Martin Kaymer enjoyed warming up next to pretty U.S. Women’s Open ladies

It was a weird site on Sunday at Pinehurst No. 2. As the 2014 U.S. Open field was preparing for the final round of their tournament, the women competing in the 2014 U.S. Women's Open were rolling in and starting their tournament preparation and practice.

As the groups in the U.S. Open teed off, only the final group of Martin Kaymer and Rickie Fowler remained on the putting green while the best in the women's game were hitting the green alongside them. That drew some criticism on Twitter, with some suggesting the fields should have been kept completely separate until the full U.S. Open field had teed off on Sunday.

The eventual champion, however, didn't mind.

"I did like it, though. Some of them are very pretty," Kaymer said after the win, drawing laughter.

Kaymer even connected with a player whose putting alignment tool intrigued him.

"It relaxes the atmosphere a little bit," Kaymer added. "I'm sure a lot of guys out here enjoyed the view as much as we did. I didn't mind it."
