Electric crossovers: there are already many battling it out

A slice of the market that is already very crowded is that of mid-sized electric crossovers, who will have to fight for a still small number of customers in Italy. Suffice it to say that in the first six months of 2022 only 25,082 electric cars were sold, out of a total of 684,228 new cars registered. But the manufacturers are now launched in the transformation process and are creating ranges parallel to those with thermal engines. And that of the medium is one of the segments that has seen the greatest commitment by car manufacturers. The two latest contenders in chronological order are the Toyota bZ4X and the Nissan Ariya, which are waiting for the already established Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Skoda Enyaq iV.

TOYOTA BZ4X

VOLKSWAGEN ID.4

The ID.4 GTX version is also available with all-wheel drive, 77 kWh battery and 299 hp power. The latter has a combined range of 477 km. The rigor of the bodywork is also found inside the passenger compartment, which has enough space for five adults and those who sit in the center of the sofa do not have a tunnel between their feet, as the floor is flat. The atmosphere is rather minimalist. The different versions of the Kia EV6 are the result of the combination of two battery cuts, rear or all-wheel drive and various power levels. The base and the GT-line Standard Range with 58 kWh battery can be had with rear-wheel drive (170 HP of power and 350 Nm of torque) or with all-wheel drive (235 HP / 605 Nm). The battery of the Long Range versions rises to 77.4 kWh as well as power and torque: 229 hp / 350 Nm for the 2WD and 325 hp / 605 Nm for the AWD.
