Toyota unveils the sports version of the RAV4 SUV

Toyota RAV4 has remained at the top of its segment over time, for almost 30 years, thanks to the philosophy of constant evolution and improvement. Faithful to its tradition, which over the years has seen the continuous introduction of new ideas to maintain customer appeal, Toyota has successfully applied its know-how in electrification, in which it is a world leader.

And so the RAV4 SUV is equipped with a powertrain Full Hybrid-Electric and Plug-In Hybrid, exceeding all expectations in terms of efficiency, but also practicality and performance of a true SUV. The range now enters a sportier dimension, the House introduces the new GR Sport versions.

The GR Sport trim

The sports set-up has already received a great success on the other models of the House already launched on the market, including Yaris, Yaris Cross (the award-winning), Corolla, C-HR and Hilux. RAV4 gets a new look and changes in driving dynamics to improve it, which will impress customers who have a desire for a more distinctive looking car.

The exterior appearance of the car

The new RAV4 GR Sport you recognize it at first glance by the wheel arches, side moldings and tailgate in piano black finish. At the front, the fog lamp bezels are more pronounced, with the same G-mesh pattern as the radiator grille and new front spoilers. GR badges on the front grille and tailgate highlight the sportiness of the model.

It’s about the first variant of RV4 (here the Adventure) equipped with alloy wheels finished with a new high-precision cutting technique. The 19-inch wheels are finished in gloss black with machined white accents.

The cockpit

Even inside the car we find the sporty and at the same time sophisticated look. The front sports seats are finished in a suede-like feel with synthetic leather side bolsters. The headrests feature black-on-black GR logo embossing, while silver stitching on the seats, steering wheel, gear lever and gunmetal-coloured moldings on the doors and steering wheel bring a dynamic feel to the cabin. The GR logo is also featured on the floor mats and steering wheel.

The RAV4 range for 2023 includes the new multimedia system with a 10.5-inch high-definition display and a customizable 12.3-inch digital cockpit, as on all the new models of the House. All cars in Toyota’s GR Sport trim are equipped with electric adjustment of the front seats – with memories for the driver – and Panoramic View Monitor with 360 ° view.

The performance of RAV4 GR Sport

Not only a sportier look, but also profound improvements to the suspensions. New stiffer springs and damper settings give the RAV4 GR Sport even better handling, for a more engaging driving experience.

Price and launch

The new RAV4 Hybrid GR Sport SUV model is available exclusively with AWD-i intelligent all-wheel drive, and its list price will be 50,300 eurosincluding metallic paints. Pearly, two-tone metallic and two-tone pearly paints provide for a surcharge of 950, 600 and 950 euros respectively. The introductory price of the ultra-sporty version of the SUV is 46,050 euros, thanks to the discount of 4,250 euros for exchange or scrapping.
