A far and wide tour at the guide of Škoda Karoq, between travel comfort, generous spaces for everything and everyone and the now traditional pragmatism of the Bohemian house, attentive to the usefulness of everything that is made available. The ANSA Motori test, which lasted several days, featured the 2.0 Tdi Evo Style DSG version, which proved to be an excellent travel campaign both on long journeys and on daily trips, perhaps with bulky luggage in tow.
After the restyling that took place at the end of 2021, or four years after the debut of the previous generation which inherited the legacy of the tireless Yeti, the glorious model of the Bohemian house, the forerunner of a certain way of being an ‘all-space’ SUV thanks to its conformation and still in great demand on the second-hand market today, Karoq is back on the scene with various improvements, both in an aesthetic and technological sense.
The novelties evident even at first glance are those regarding the look and aerodynamics. The latter reviewed according to the improvement in consumption and emissions, important for a car manufacturer like Škoda which does not currently have hybrid engines in its range. The strong point of the updated version of Karoq, however, we found unchanged in the characteristics of habitability and versatility.
For the rear seats there are VarioFlex seats that replace the sofa with three single seats. This type of seat slides independently and can also be removed, creating a more comfortable space with two armchairs or to accommodate bulky loads.
With the Eco package, Karoq also renounces components of animal origin and focuses on recycling with the seats upholstered in a fabric created from recycled Pet bottles, in imitation leather and suedia (suede microfibre). The luggage compartment measures 521 liters with the rear seats in use, rising to 1,630 liters when folded down: not bad for a mid-size SUV.
The infotainment system is well conceived and fluid to use, now updated and managed by a touch screen that can reach up to 9.2 inches. The multimedia system is connected to the internet thanks to an integrated eSim. Laura, the virtual assistant who simplifies the many functions available, can also assist us while driving.
The Škoda Karoq, also in its second revised and improved version, therefore aims at families but not only, because the secret is precisely in the versatility and possibilities of use that range across the most varied types of use: accompanied, more than accompanied or alone but with so many kilometers to grind or so many things to carry.
In short, it is the Škoda Yeti of today, much more technological and ready for anything (or almost). (HANDLE).
