Jacobs in recovery, Dosso one step away from the record. Immediately under 10 seconds, despite being hospitalized twelve days ago in Nairobi: Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs whizzes in a windy 9.99 in battery, driven by a gust higher than allowed (+2.3), and an hour later wins the final of the Meeting of Savona with 10.04 and regular wind (+0.3). On the track where last year he signed his first Italian record of 100 with 9.95, even without the condition of the best days, the phenomenon of the Fiamme Oro beats the Ivorian Arthur Cissé (10.10), the French Jimmy Vicaut (10.12) and Sri Lankan sprinter Yupun Abeykoon (Nissolino Sport, 10.16 after 10.04 of the battery). The other blue Chituru never stops Ali (Fiamme Gialle) which drops to a remarkable 10.18, improving by a tenth the time of last week at the Marmi di Roma (10.28), but the windy 10.12 of the battery should also be underlined, which cannot be recognized as a personal best since it is facilitated by a wind above +2.0. Sixth place in the final for the French Mouhamadou Bankruptcy (10.24). Also highlighted are the other two Olympic champions of the 4×100 relay: Lorenzo Flap (Fiamme Gialle) starts the season from 10.19 (+1.3), six cents from the PB obtained last year on the same straight (the one opposite to the main one, given the wind blowing from the sea), Fausto Desalu (Fiamme Gialle) improves to 10.21 (+1.3), dropping eight hundredths compared to Savona’s 10.29 in 2020, excellent news in perspective 200 meters. For both of them it is not enough to access the six-man final, also thanks to the quality of the international cast, but the debut is still of value.

Zaynab Dosso is unleashed in the first round with 11.19 (+1.0), the second Italian time ever, just five hundredths from the Italian record of Manuela Levorato (11.14).

The U23 European champion opens the season with 22.83, taking advantage of all the wind allowed (+2.0). Bright Bogliolo (Fiamme Oro) immediately drops below thirteen seconds in the 100hs: 12.99 (+0.7) on “his” track, a few steps from his home in Alassio. The Italian record holder, returning to the specialty after the record achieved in the semifinal in Tokyo, duels with the Finnish Reetta Hurske that the check in 12.94. Third Irish Sarah Lavin (13.11), fourth and still growing under 23 Elena Carraro (Atl. Brescia 1950 Metallurgica San Marco) who confirms his progress with the staff of 13.13 and takes away the satisfaction of overcoming an opponent of international level such as the Hungarian Luca Kozak (13.16). Sixth place for Elisa Of Lazarus (Carabinieri) in 13.17.
