How much do you love the Communist Party? In China the government knows it (with Artificial Intelligence) – Formiche.net

A new tool, created by the Hafei Comprehensive National Science Center, will allow us to understand how much citizens are aligned with the position of the CCP. But it’s not the first program to monitor political affection, as an already available indoctrination app demonstrates. Surveillance is playing an increasingly central role in Beijing’s plans

Goodbye books and active militancy: in China, to evaluate the party loyaltya simple program of Artificial intelligence. The new frontier of technology therefore takes a further step forward, or towards the cliff. The new system was developed byHafei Comprehensive National Science Centerwhich confirmed how it is possible to capture facial expressions and brain waves, in order to understand how much a citizen is in line with the Communist Party of China (PCC). It is a useful control tool for the Beijing authorities to be aware of the degree of affection of citizens towards the primary institution, so as to “further consolidate their confidence and determination in being grateful to the party, listening to it and following it”.

To describe the operation of the new control device was the Times. According to the British newspaper, 43 scientists who are part of the research team and militant in the party (which in China has over 96 million members, compared to a population of 1.4 billion people) were hired to lead the way. : they were asked to stand in front of a screen and read an article on national politics or on what the party has decided. The surveillance cameras record every moment of those few minutes and capture every inclination of the mouth or more or less dubious expression. In this way, it will be possible to assess whether the person in question is more or less in agreement with what is being submitted to him.

As written in a scientific article, in fact, this tool “on the one hand can judge how party members have accepted political thought and education”, while on the other it provides (as much as) real data on how to improve action of the party. What is intriguing, however, is the fact that the publication disappeared four days ago, on July 1, the day in which the birth of the Party is celebrated.

However, these methods carried out by Xi Jinping to test the loyalty of the population. Brainwave reading to really understand what is going on in a citizen’s head has not made its debut in China today, but is part of a larger process and of which not many steps are known. The video surveillance system is not limited only to control, but also to the perception of what citizens are doing. In autocratic societies, it is no coincidence that understanding their attitudes is a fundamental requirement to catch some bad mood in advance and eventually repress it. In the province of Zhejiang, a system has been launched that allows you to evaluate the growth of a student, while in the city of Hangzhou, cameras monitor students to perceive their moods through their behavior.

The evaluation of love for the party, then, is a frontier that has already been discovered. In fact, there is aapp, on which the various members gain the trust of the central body by acquiring points. Every day, in fact, 40 must be reached. To get there, you can read four articles, each lasting at least four minutes, or watching three nine-minute videos or answering questions. In doing so, on the one hand the Party knows who does their homework and who does not and, in addition, educates the citizens.

The app has a name that’s all a script (Study Xi to make China Strong – Study Xi to make China strong) and according to the CCP it is essential to “broaden the learning channel” and to make “the future brighter. It will really improve the political quality and ideological thinking of a party member ”. This is to be seen, while the certainty is that control over Chinese citizens is tightened a little more, in the name of the Party.
